REGULATIONS FOR THE MATRON

1. The matron shall obey all lawful orders given to her by the

Permanent and Annual Committee.

2. She shall not leave the buildings without permission and

shall note down each period of her absence.

3. She shall permit no one who is not a Visiting Justice or a

Member of the Permanent Committee or of the Annual Committee to enter

without written authority from the Registrar General.

4. She shall prevent all unauthorized communication with per-

sons outside.

5. She shall see that all girls on arrival are provided with

a bath and a clean suit of clothes.

6. She shall pay special attention to the clothing and perso-

nal cleanliness of the inmates.

7. She shall allot the household duties between the various

inmates.

8. She shall see that the inmates are, as far as possible, fully

occupied during the day.

9. She shall maintain good order and decency.

10. She shall see that the rooms are cleaned thoroughly every

day.

11. She shall keep the rooms properly ventilated.
